Cal and his buddy are drinking bottles of Like. I’d never heard of it, but wikipedia had.
The name was originally used by 7 Up in the 60s for its diet lemon-lime soda, later renamed Diet 7 Up. But in 1982, 7 Up introduced Like Cola as a caffeine-free alternative. Its slogan was Made From The Cola Nut. A wonder it didn’t take off.
Actor Kevin Dobson and comedian Tim Conway were spokespersons for Like. Check out this 1982 commercial where Dobson kicks ass arcade-style in a Like-themed Pac-Man knockoff.
