Ugh. Way to pioneer the fart joke, “Blazing Saddles” (1974).
On this news of Mel Brooks’ potentially developing Blazing Saddles into a musical, I invite wrath with the following:
Who among you will join me in acknowledging that this movie may well have been pioneering for its use of lowbrow, crass stereotypes and sound effects in its day, but it is JUST NOT THAT FUNNY?
Is it one of those things where you’re either a Spaceballs person or you’re a Blazing Saddles person? Because I will cross the line in the sand to these enormous props and crass stereotypes any day of the week.
