Reducing Music to Math
Somewhat related to Three being a Magic Number, Science Daily reports on the research of a team of music professors who have devised a complex method of mapping musical systems onto mathematical ones. If I were a smart man, I’d learn more about it. There’s a nice picture.
Regarding 3, it really is magic. 3 is the stuff of the swing. Swing is the stuff of jazz. Jazz is magic. Ergo. QED.
