Me, saving the clock tower ca. 2005
Quick story: I was working on a commercial on the Universal lot and took a walk during lunch to maybe my favorite set of any movie (that being the Courthouse Square seen in the hoverboard chase of Back to the Future II). I was making a phone call from the steps, relaxing in the sun and suddenly the tour bus pulls around the corner and a hundred tourists start snapping photos of me.
Anyhow, as of today’s fire, my beloved clock tower is beyond saving.
Note: the Courthouse Square had previously been victim to a fire in 1990 when a security guard, hired to keep watch on picture cars for the Sylvester Stallone masterpiece Oscar, lost control of his cigarette. Totally worth it.
