“Elbow Convertible: The Greatest iPhone Movie that Never Was”
Today, I’m driving around Hollywood with my pal Jesse, and he’s blasting the hip-hops like he is wont to do. And so the weather is so beautiful and the PTO footage we’ve just shot is so fun, and I decide to turn the camera around on myself and record a little impromptu iPhone video message to the MaxFun community, to spread the word about donating to support the cause. And boy, it was grand. I mean, I was on fire. And this video was to play during Jesse’s upcoming pledge marathon, to uproarious applause and obnoxious overtures of checkbook grabbing.
And when I got home and sync’d up, this image was all the lasting evidence of my masterpiece. This single frame. Because, goddammit, Apple, is my point.
You can’t be bothered to make a separate app icon for Video mode? You split the one Images app into two icons (Photos and Camera), you even split off Videos into a separate app icon from iPod.app on iPad and iPod touch, yet I must be relied upon to flip this teensy tinesy little switch:

(~150% actual size)
to capture my most precious little audiovisual memories and spontaneous cinematic treasures?
That’s not cool, Apple. I think you did that wrong.
