Andrew W.K. on Nerd Boyfriend
I didn’t know what my special lady had in mind when she bought the domain nerdboyfriend.com a couple months ago. A support group maybe? Goofy stories and pictures of me nerding around? I do enough of that crap myself.
But she made something actually fantastic that’s quickly become one of my favorite new sites—a sort of archival Sartorialist for nerd heroes and icons (yesterday was Sir Edmund Hillary, for example). Every day a picture and some links to what they might be wearing (with as much accuracy as the photos and marketplace allow).
At one point in the development phase, there was a picture of me up there, but most of my wardrobe is kind of redundant and JC Penney has no affiliate program. But I am trying.
